My Yoga StoryI began my practice of yoga in 2006, after I was involved in a car accident. I found that yoga and meditation were an excellent way to be with pain both physically and emotionally.
It was on a trip to Thailand, the following year, that solidified my interest in yoga for therapeutic healing. In 2011 I left the corporate world and moved to Switzerland with my husband and two dogs. I began to pursue my passion. After meeting teacher, Stephen Thomas, in Zurich, Switzerland I began to take an in depth look at my practice and accompanied him on a retreat to Bali. In Bali, I decided to pursue this passion not only for myself, but to share with others. The following November I completed a 200- hour intensive teacher training program at Samahita Retreat Center in Koh Samui, Thailand. I became pregnant in early 2013 and began looking for complementary practices. I enrolled in an 80 hour prenatal yoga training with Sue Elkind, founder of DIG yoga. The journey through pregnancy and birth brought me closest to my practice. I was able to nurture the changes occurring in my body. I gained the understanding and wisdom of the intelligence in my body while nourishing my growing baby. My passion for therapeutics in yoga was deeply met when I connected with Tiffany Cruickshank, founder of Yoga Medicine. I completed my 500 hour Advanced Training Certification in 2018. I'm a Yoga Medicine® Registered Therapeutic Specialist, and I am currently enrolled in the Yoga Medicine 1000 hour advanced teacher certification. I assisting and teach with Yoga Medicine 500 hour trainings all over the world. My passion to evolve as a human and teacher is continuous. I am currently exploring in depth the integration of the subtle body, energetic dynamics, and Yoga Therapeutics. I have been a Vedic Meditator since 2019. This practice of self study and self discipline informs my daily life. I have completed a 300 hr training with Kia Miller, creator of Radiant Body Yoga a 60 hour Yoga Nidra Training with Tracee Stanley and I am currently in training as a Biodynamic Cranial Sacral Therapist. I am excited to integrate the deep healing wisdom of this practice to inform my offerings within the community. Yoga and healing is my path, and I am committed to learning as much as possible about the human body and mind in order to be of service to my students and clients. I'm here to be of service while embracing the modern body and what serves it best - Allie |
